Welcome to Poetry at Walker, where you will find information about the Poet in Residence Program (Fall semester) as well as Pegasus (Spring semester).
Students and teachers, please visit Bowden Library and see the new display of contemporary poetry books that recently arrived. You will also find a writing challenge for your students ($25 prize), deadline October 15.
As Poet in Residence, I conduct poetry "visits" to all classrooms, pre-K through twelfth grade. All you need to do is email me (hartsock@thewalkerschoo.org). Until December, I am available during A and E periods on the rotating schedule for Middle and Upper School teachers. For Lower School visits, just email me the desired visit date, and I will respond with a week's worth of availability for your convenience. Then, once you express your learning goals for the visit, I will custom-design a lesson plan (for one or multiple days) and be at your door on said day.
Look for other displays in the hallways, and I will see all of you at various LS, MS, and US assemblies to conduct readings.
